Locally, we have the Carolina Beach Arcade located right on the boardwalk. There are even game rooms at both of the piers to enjoy. Is Dad a vintage game nerd? Check out Retroscape, located in Wilmington, N.C. It is a vintage video game lounge where you can enjoy game systems from the 1970s to the early 2000s.
3. SIGN DAD UP FOR SURF SCHOOL: The Tony Silvagni Surf School is your one-stop-shop for adventure on the water in Carolina Beach. Owned by professional surfer Tony Silvagni, he has put together a great team of instructors. Their primary focus for surfing instruction is safety in the water while having the best time possible!
I actually recommend starting Dad with paddleboard lessons first—it's less intimidating and honestly more fun to watch. Tony's team knows how to make grown men feel like kids again on the water. You can even rent beach gear from the surf school, so you and Dad can chill out on the beach after his lessons. Is Dad already a watersports pro? You can also rent gear like surfboards, paddleboards, kayaks, skimboards, etc. Adventure awaits!
4. EVERY DAD LOVES A GREAT MEAL: After a long day of bonding with Dad, end the day with a great meal. Beach vacations are never complete without a seafood dinner. Our area has no shortage of places that Dad will enjoy. We recommend stopping by the Shuckin' Shack in Carolina Beach and ordering one of their delicious family-style meals.
Each family-style meal is served with tons of great seafood like a dozen oysters, clams, and shrimp, snow crab legs. There are also tons of great fixings included, so be sure to check out the menu.
5. PLAY A ROUND OF GOLF WITH DAD: Reserve a tee time for Dad at the Beau Rivage golf course. Tucked between Cape Fear and the Atlantic ocean, this 18-hole course will impress any Dad who enjoys golfing. The rolling hills, willowy pines, and beautiful lakes provide a unique golf experience. 6. TAKE DAD OUT FOR A DRINK: If your Dad enjoys a delicious beer after being on the beach all day, we have the perfect places in town to take him!
