Enjoy nearly six miles of pristine beach and trails brimming with wildlife and scenery at Fort Fisher State Recreation Area!

Development on this protected zone is limited to the visitor center and boardwalks that attract birders and photographers. The park is popular for surf fishing and four-wheel-drive vehicles with required seasonal permits. On this tip of Pleasure Island, visitors will also find a location of the NC Aquarium, Civil War-era historic site, and nearby boating ramp/paddling launch.
