Freeman Park

Freeman Park

Drive, swim, camp, fish, launch a boat, go crabbing, or cast for minnows!

There’s so much to do at the north end of Pleasure Island at Freeman Park! One of two locations on Pleasure Island where you can drive a 4×4 vehicle on the beach (with a permit), Freeman Park attracts thousands of visitors a year looking to get out on the sandy beaches and enjoy time in the sun. The area is about two miles long and there are several recommendations for your visit. Do observe the speed limit (15mph), drive below the high tide mark, keep moving through soft sand, make sure to air your tires down to at least 20PSI, and be respectful of other visitors.

Daily passes are approximately $30 per vehicle and are available at the main entrance of the park. If you’re considering multiple visits, an annual pass is around $150.

*Erosion has led to some areas of the beach being closed to vehicles and patrons.*
