Wake up to the sunrise over the ocean in the morning from your front porch and watch the sunset over the canal as you fall asleep in bed. Two bedrooms, both with king-size beds, equipped kitchen, and open concept living area. This site has a sister rental on the lower level, perfect for a two-family vacation. Plenty of parking with an electric vehicle charging station on-site for you and your boat. You are right across the street from the beach access and .8 miles from the heart of Carolina Beach. 2 blocks to a coffee shop and 8 blocks to the Carolina Beach pier and Tiki Bar. Fish off the pier or take a charter boat from the boat docks. Enjoy driving your four-wheel drive on Freeman Park or down at Fort Fisher where you can stop in at the aquarium or take a ferry ride and enjoy the quaint town of Southport.
This year we have updated and enlarged, slightly, the bathroom shower. We have also added a park-style charcoal grill and picnic table in the backyard. We also now have both a drip and a Keurig coffee maker. Enjoy!

As well as stocked with everything, all kitchen items you could need, sheets, plenty of towels, etc. Great location, right across the street from the beach, awesome front porch to sit / relax and listen to the ocean. "Review left July 2022: I stayed here with my 2 daughters (13 & 8). Both loved the location and the 3 split mini-ACs worked great! The stove, microwave and other things worked great as well. The set up is great for going to the beach, and the long covered porch is great for watching the sun or people watching as they go by downstairs.
The proximity to the beach is phenominal! On our last day, my 8 yr old and I hit the beach for bodyboarding. We were able to make it back at the cabin and packing up our stuff within 10 min of leaving the water! Wow. "

"Review left July 2021: We loved our stay at A Whelk on the Beach. We could see and hear the ocean from the porch and hung out on the porch a lot when were were not out on the beach or on an adventure. The cottage was perfect, decorated so nice and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The shower was nice too had good water pressure. And the beds were very comfortable. Carol was always responsive when we had a question or need. There were also beach games and chairs to use in the shed. Would definitely stay here again it was so nice and we loved Carolina Beach. "
