Fish off the pier or take a charter boat from the boat docks. Enjoy driving your four-wheel drive on Freeman Park or down at Fort Fisher where you can stop in at the aquarium or take a ferry ride and enjoy the quaint town of Southport.

Stayed September 2023

"First off we loved the place. It truly was directly across the street from the beach access we were so close. Second the porch swing was a really nice touch to eat breakfast and the kitchen was well stocked so we were able to cook for our meals. Our small issue was there was pet hair and human hair on the sheets. However they provided an extra pack of sheets in the closet so we just changed them out ourselves. Also don’t let that change your thought about staying here they were very proactive in contacting us and making sure everything was okay. They most likely would’ve changed the bedding but we found some in the closet and just did it ourselves to save everyone hassle. Lovely place would love to come back on our next trip."

"Beach Cottage - We enjoyed our stay at this property. The home is located at the entrance to the public beach access so very close to the water. We would walk back for lunch then go back to the beach, walk takes about 1 minute. The home is clean but small. Some other things I noticed that weren't in the listing include an outdoor shower, a beach cart, boogie boards, beach toys, charcoal grill (like you'd find at a park) and lots of beach chairs. The indoor shower is small and if you have broad shoulders you probably won't fit unless you stand sideways, but the outdoor shower works perfectly for a beach trip. For the price, we felt this was a great value and a great stay close to the beach."

"Great walking distance to a more secluded area of the beach. A bit of a long walk to the boardwalk area where you otherwise would pay some hefty parking fees. There is no dishwasher available in this unit, which I felt was a bit conflicting from the listing, so I thought it was useful information. Overall, great experience!"
